Boat Licensing Scheme - Loch Lomond

The three Loch Lomondside local authorities have each launched a consultation about proposals for a Boat Licensing Scheme for the Loch, which has been under consideration for some time.

West Dunbartonshire Council and Stirling Councils have the consultation on their websites:

Argyll & Bute Council will do so very soon but there isnít anything there just now.

The Boat Licensing Scheme proposed will affect all those businesses or small traders offering use of boats for any commercial hire and reward, and will include all powered craft carrying from 1 - 11 passengers, and will include both self-drive and crewed vessels.

The Consultation closing dates do differ slightly Ė 25 July for WDC and 27th July for Stirling Council. Details of how to respond are on the documents.

Anyone wishing to respond should do so to the Local Authority in which they live or conduct all or the majority of their business.

Both the NPA and MCA websites (and Social Media) will also carry the above information on where the Consultations may be found.

The LLA will be submitting a Consultation Response, and any current member is free to email their particular point of view on any relevent aspect of this scheme, for attention of: The LLA Management Committee, to:

Peter Jack
LLA Chairman
