Protection of the waters and the environment of Loch Lomond

The Loch Lomond Association

Welcome to the Loch Lomond Association — Protecting the Heart of Scotland’s Greatest Freshwater Loch

Loch Lomond is one of Britain’s most treasured natural landscapes — a place of breathtaking scenery, rich heritage and endless opportunities for recreation on and around its waters. The Loch Lomond Association is a volunteer-led, not-for-profit organisation dedicated to protecting, preserving, and promoting the natural and cultural heritage of Loch Lomond, its islands and shoreline.

Since 1981, we have brought together water users, shoreline owners, local businesses and communities to safeguard the Loch’s environment, champion responsible access, and support safe and enjoyable use for generations to come. Our work includes advocating with authorities, promoting understanding of environmental challenges, and supporting vital services like the Loch Lomond Rescue Boat

Whether you’re a visitor, resident, boat owner, angler or outdoor enthusiast, the Association stands for a balanced future where people and nature thrive together. Join us in celebrating and protecting these iconic waters — your support helps ensure Loch Lomond remains spectacular, safe and accessible for all.
